Lake Powell

Well I'm already struggling with keeping up on our blog...doesn't surprise me much :) I'm going to get better though. I'm determined! A couple weeks ago Michael and I went to Lake Powell with some of our friends. We were pretty excited to escape the heat and hang out for the weekend. Michael has been friends with these guys since elementary school and before the wedding all of them kept telling me that I would be marrying into two families. It was great to be able to spend time with them and get to know my "new family" a little better.

the crew--Michael and I, Daniel and Steph, Trent and Lauren (she snapped the pic for us), Chad and Brandi and baby Channing came later that night.

Home

So this whole getting adjusted thing after the wedding has proved to be harder than I thought. You don't really think about the next step (real life after the wedding) until it actually hits you. Moving away, finding a job, law school, bills, the blazing heat down here (it's already 105 degrees), making new friends, family wards, and the list could go on. I definitely feel more like an adult, or I feel like I at least need to try to act like one :). Lately I've been feeling bad because Michael keeps asking me if this (Arizona) feels like home yet. Honestly, the last couple of weeks I haven't been able to answer yes. It seems like you learn something new everyday after you get married. Whether it's about your significant other or just about life in general. I've learned in the past couple of days that my home is Michael and I can't imagine being anywhere else. St. George will always be home for both Michael and I, nothing will replace the memories we have there. But, as we start this new life together I realize that it doesn't matter where we are. As long as I'm with Michael, I'm home and I'm happy.

So long St. George...

...and hello Arizona!

It's time...

I never thought I would be a blogger...ever. But here I am! I think Michael is more excited about this blog than I am. He woke me up this morning at 7 to get it started. Yes 7. Anyone that knows me knows I'm not a morning person so you can imagine how happy I was to wake up to Michael's voice saying, "Ok honey, here ya go, start our blog!" I don't know what happened but after the wedding I caught the bug. The blogging bug. I figure this is the best time to start documenting our life together right? So here it goes. There's more to come from the Orton's!
